Tips for All Mail:
- Mail and packages generally take two to four weeks to arrive
- Number all letters and packages you send, so we know if one is missing or doesn't show up
- Write "Air Mail" or "Par Avion" on all
- Write "God Bless" and things like that to discourage thieves, etc.
We had a session on coping the other day and some PCV's had some good ideas so I would like to share with you all who read ways that YOU can help me cope...even if you are in Americaland:
-I want to take a picture every sunday at the same time and post them on facebook-to help me stay connected with your folks. So every sunday take a minute out of your day at 4:15 your time and I will do the same to take a snap (thats what they are called here) to keep me current on your life. post it to facebook or even send it to me via email mezimmerma@gmail.com
-I plan on teaching the kids on my compound to say "I love you" so when I am having a bad day they can say it to me(this has nothing to do with you guys but i thought i would share)
-So I would LOVE it if you would send me letters that i would open only on certain occasions for example when I get malaria, rock bottom, homesick, zam time(people show up when they want and don't show up, something I can tell I will struggle with that already), failure, sick, birthdays etc. Letters to be open when these events have happened to me to remind me to keep my head held high and keep on working hard. It can say whatever you want but it would be neat to open these on those occasions.
-If I call, listen, listen and listen some more. You will neve know what it is like to be here nor do i want you to try to act like you know. Just listen. Coming home is not an option for me so don't suggest it.
These are just a few I thought I would share.
Thanks for all the love and support
